Ever since the Air Max BW Gen II made one of Sneaker Freakers covers for Issue 17 late last year, we’ve been getting pummeled with enquiries. BW fans will either love it or hate it, as it is essentially an entirely new shoe which has lost the bulk and shed some weight due to a bunch of technical enhancements; such as welded uppers, natural motion soles, and of course the addition of Nike’s Torch.
Torch was originally designed for football (soccer) boots and is a lightweight, moisture-managing, supremely comfortable three-layer textile. The outer layer features a visually stunning, protective diamond pattern that holds its shape and won’t crease at stress points like traditional materials. The middle layer offers a lightweight structural element that stands up to a post-match cool-down or an active day around town. The inner layer provides moisture-managing breathability to keep the foot cool.
This release also follows the ‘Nike Considered’ design principle of it’s construction. Based on the idea of modularity, the Torch Air Max has been developed so that numerous mid-sole models from the Air Max family can easily be integrated into the production line, eliminating waste and inefficiency.
Also just in is this OG-esque Air Max 1 in a bright baby blue and grey felt and mesh upper with just the right amount of orange pop…CLASSIC!
This time round the goodies, Yoda and his Jedi apprentice Luke Skywalker, get their time to shine with two of the most unique silouettes in the Adidas and Star Wars collection. The Yoda takes the form of a ZX700 Boat; with amazing colour, detail, and texture inspired by the pint sized Jedi Master. The upper is made of a mixture of premium suede, canvas, and leather which looks like real yoda skin topped off with green laces with wooden lace tips.
…And Adidas has fittingly used their 80s SW model as the base for the Skywalkers which mimics Luke’s X-Wing pilot suit and helmet with amazing attention to detail inside and out. These have especially generated a bunch of hype and just might turn out to be the most popular release in the series. Both shoes feature Star Wars logo embossed sock liners and come with custom tongue tags and special blister packaging. Remember, we are one of only 5 stores in the country selling these limited releases, so if you’re looking to cop, may the force be with you…

Our very own Matt (aka Twizm, aka Twizzy, aka The Mumbler, aka Lightning Fingers, aka OH MY GOD!) has got too much time on his hands it seems. For a little over a year now, Matt has been on the mission of compiling a complete archive of UK produced New Balance 1500s, as well as some of the earlier US made versions of the shoe, and some unreleased samples. You could say he’s obsessed, and if you’ve ever met Matt you’ll know that he can work New Balance into a conversation about Vegemite. I hazard to guess that this is the most comprehensive record of this icon on the planet which makes it a pretty amazing accomplishment and a full geek-out, and he knows it. The complete archive has been posted on the Project 4000 blog for everybody to enjoy, class is in session.

Ken Rosewall is an Aussie tennis legend - the former world number 1 had a distinguished career that spanned from the 50s to the 70s. Originally released in 1976 under the name Ken Rosewall LE, the Lawnship was the pinnacle of Onitsuka’s tennis department. It now returns in a deep red suede for 2010.
The wait is finally over with two versions of Supra’s Skytop II making their way into Laced in a Navy and Metallic Gold leather with some unique webbing around the ankle and side panel. Despite their height these are surprisingly lightweight and comfortable. Taking cues from the Jordan 6, the Skytop II’s back heel loop and tongue holes make it easier to get them on your feet, while their low profile midsole maintains board-feel (remember, these are meant to be a skate shoe…).
…and this stealth black suede version with red leather lining is soo the business!
As you’d expect, and can see from these comparison pics the Skytop II is taller than its predecessor, but only marginally.
And it seems TK’s Society still has bragging rights as the tallest Supra on offer…
We also have the newly updated Cuban 1.5 which comes with leather laces as standard with a pop red coloured chain draped over perfrated black TUF material.
And Jim Greco’s signature model; the Thunder, is available in both low and high versions in a buttery burgundy suede with patent heel tab and alternate wax laces. See our entire Supra range available now in store and ONLINE.
